Briefing

What this piece covers.

Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited now runs the national distribution network. The LinkedIn note records the managing director’s account of the first months: a nationwide audit, overload on parts of the network, and a programme of infrastructure upgrades backed by regulator-supported finance.

Distribution is where generation actually reaches the customer. Outages, overloaded feeders and protection settings are engineering problems, not communications problems — and they sit in the same work as reclosers, switchgear and commissioning that energy contractors already know.
