This Privacy Policy explains how Samanga Utilities Limited (“Samanga”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you use our website (including samangasolutions.com), submit an enquiry or chat message, or otherwise contact us online. We process personal data in line with Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, and other applicable law.

Information you provide: when you use our contact, proposal or chat forms we typically receive your name, email address, organisation, telephone number (if given), division or service of interest, and the content of your message or project brief.

Technical and usage information: our servers and security tools may record IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URL and timestamps. We use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled to understand aggregate traffic and improve the Site.

We do not intentionally collect special-category (sensitive) personal data through the Site. Please do not submit unnecessary sensitive information in enquiry or chat forms.

We use personal information to: respond to enquiries and route them to the relevant division; provide information about our services; operate, secure and improve the Site; measure traffic and content performance; and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

We rely on legitimate interests (operating a business website and responding to business enquiries), steps toward a potential contract where you request a proposal, and consent where required (for example for non-essential cookies, if we introduce a consent mechanism later).

Enquiries are shared internally with the relevant Samanga division and staff who need them to respond. We use service providers who process data on our behalf (for example website hosting, email delivery and analytics). Those providers are expected to protect data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Samanga, our users or others.

The Site may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the Site to function, and analytics cookies or scripts (including Google Analytics) to understand how the Site is used. Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation where supported.

We keep enquiry and correspondence records for as long as needed to respond, manage the relationship and meet legal, accounting or dispute-related requirements, then delete or anonymise them when no longer required. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of our analytics tools.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Subject to applicable law (including the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019), you may have the right to request access to personal data we hold about you, correction of inaccurate data, deletion or restriction in certain cases, and to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Office (Uganda) or other competent authority.

Our primary operations are in Uganda. Some processors (for example cloud hosting or analytics providers) may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps appropriate under applicable law to protect it.

The Site is directed at business and institutional users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
